About YMCA Camp Hi-Rock:
Nestled in 1,000 acres of the Berkshire Mountains, YMCA Camp Hi-rock surrounds the 90 acre Plantain Pond in Mt. Washington, Massachusetts. YMCA Camp Hi-Rock offers superb accommodations in a year-round Conference Center with meeting rooms, contemporary and rustic cabins, a spacious dining hall and modern facilities all in a country setting with incomparable scenery.
Directions to YMCA Camp Hi-Rock:
A. From New York City and Points Northwest and Southwest: Take the Taconic Parkway North to the Claverack/Hillsdale/Rt. 23 exit.
Make a right onto Route 23 East.
Continue on across Massachusetts state line to Route 41 South.
Turn right onto Route 41 South. Stay on it for about 100 yards.
Turn right onto Mount Washington Road. Stay on it about 9.8 miles.
On your left will be a sign marked "YMCA Camp Hi-Rock".
Turn left onto the dirt road.
Proceed further than you think you should until you reach Bear Rock Lodge.
B. From Fairfield County and Points South: Go North on Rt. 8 until the expressway ends. Go right on Rt. 44 west through Winsted to Canaan. Take Rt. 7 North to Sheffield, MA. Proceed through the town of Sheffield. About 200 yards past Limeys Restaurant take a diagonal left on to Egremont Road to the town of South Egremont. At S. Egremont center, take a left onto Rt. 23. Proceed through the Town of South Egremont and turn left at the yellow flashing light onto Rt. 41, just past the Spirit Shoppe. Take your first right onto Mt. Washington Road and continue up the mountain for approximately 9.5 miles. The YMCA Camp Hi-Rock driveway is on the left hand side of the road, opposite the Mt. Washington State Park, and is clearly marked. The camp driveway is a dirt road and is about 2 miles long. Remember this is a camp, PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY. There is a parking lot on your right just past the blacktop.
C. From Hartford and Points South East: Go West on Rt. 44 from Hartford to Canaan. Follow Directions as in B above.
D. From Boston and points Northeast: Take the Mass. Pike (I-90) to Exit 2 for Lee, MA. Proceed on Rt. 102 to Stockbridge and Rt. 7 South. Stay on Rt. 7 South through the Town of Great Barrington. As you exit Great Barrington stay in right lane. Turn right onto Rt. 23 (at traffic light) and continue about 5 miles to South Egremont. Then follow directions as in B.
